What is an angel investor?

Angel Investors are typically individuals who invest in early-stage companies with high growth potential.  They often bridge the gap between initial funding provided by founders or “friends and family”, and institutional rounds provided by venture capitalists.

Angel Investors are a critical resource because they are typically experienced entrepreneurs who bring expertise and connections in the industry sectors they invest in.  While venture capitalists on average make larger investments, the aggregate amount of funds invested by angel investors far exceeds venture capital investments.
